The mind gives rise to a resolve, and from this resolve, the universe is born. With the universe comes the senses, and with the senses, actions unfold. These actions, in turn, give rise to merit and demerit, binding us to the cycle of karma.
The river of life, symbolized by the Ganges, flows from the matted locks of Lord Shiva. To reverse its course, we must strive to transcend our worldly attachments. By doing so, we can eliminate all suffering, pain, fleeting pleasures, desires, and attachments.
To transcend the duality of merit and demerit, we must cease our actions. To stop our actions, we must withdraw our senses from the world. And to withdraw our senses, we must dissolve the universe, which is born from our resolve. Ultimately, it is the mind alone that remains.
The mind can be stilled through self-realization. When an enlightened being performs an action, it is no longer considered an action, but rather a divine play, or Lila. Merit and demerit are associated with actions, whereas Lila transcends the realm of cause and effect.
Lila is an event that unfolds beyond the dimensions of time and space. It is the spontaneous expression of the Divine, unencumbered by the burdens of karma. 🔯🙌❤️
