The greatest illusion of our time is the practice of group meditation and initiation. People gather in large numbers, paying money to receive diksha (initiation) into sacred mantras like Sri Vidya or Maha Mrityunjaya. However, they will soon realize that these initiations were mere illusions, yielding no real accomplishments, siddhis (spiritual powers), or liberation.
My dear friends, Shaktipat diksha and mantra diksha are not like attending a 10th or 12th-grade class. These initiations are not meant to be given in groups. They require a one-on-one connection between the guru and the disciple.
People who waste their time and money on these group initiations, ordering kits online and performing rituals without proper guidance, will eventually face difficulties on their spiritual journey. When they encounter unexpected experiences or don’t understand certain aspects, their guru will be nowhere to be found.
A true guru is like Krishna, who treated Sudama and others with equal love and respect, without discrimination. Today’s gurus are often more like celebrities, and their organizations can only foster maya (illusion), not true spirituality.
