The Sarva Rakshakara Chakra – Shield of Protection in Shri Vidya

In the journey of Shri Vidya, the Sarva Rakshakara Chakra is the next milestone after the Sarvartha Sadhaka Chakra. This chakra represents the protector or guardian aspect of the divine feminine, Maa Lalita. The name itself suggests that this chakra is responsible for protecting everything.

But what does it protect? Is it the protection of a human being, family, or material possessions? No, it’s not that. The protection offered by this chakra is of a much higher level. It protects the spiritual accomplishments, siddhis, and experiences gained by the seeker.

In the external ritualistic practice of Shri Vidya, Maa Lalita and her mandala are considered the protectors. They safeguard the seeker’s spiritual growth, family, health, wealth, and overall well-being. However, when we internalize this practice, the understanding of protection changes.

The true protector is not outside but within. It’s the seeker themselves who must protect their spiritual growth, siddhis, and experiences. The Bhairava aspect, which is the guardian principle, is also within. The seeker must embody the qualities of Bhairava, such as courage, discernment, and self-control, to protect their spiritual accomplishments.

The Sarva Rakshakara Chakra is not just about protection but also about self-refinement. The seeker must cultivate the qualities of Lord Vishnu, such as preservation, sustenance, and growth, to nurture their spiritual growth. The ultimate goal is to attain a state where the seeker is not affected by external circumstances and remains steadfast on their spiritual path.

In this chakra, the seeker must confront their inner demons, such as ego, attachment, and ignorance, and overcome them. The Khadga Mala, a sacred text, is not just a ritualistic recitation but a powerful tool for self-transformation.

The Sarva Rakshakara Chakra represents a critical juncture in the seeker’s journey. It’s a turning point where they must decide to let go of their ego, attachments, and limitations to move forward on their spiritual path. The seeker must become like Lord Vishnu, who preserves and sustains the universe, and protect their spiritual growth with discernment and self-control.

Ultimately, the Sarva Rakshakara Chakra is a shield of protection that guards the seeker’s spiritual accomplishments and helps them navigate the challenges of their journey. It’s a reminder that true protection comes from within and that the seeker must cultivate the qualities of the divine to achieve their spiritual goals.
